The Stems
Flowers are beautiful, but cost an awful lot. I'm opting not to do flower centerpieces or really any flowers at all except for my own bouquet and some corsages for the mothers/grandmothers. I will, however, be DIYing some stems of another kind...feathers!!
Flowers I do like...
This bouquet is by knottie Kristen Leigh. She does fab work with flowers! I would love an orchid bouquet, but I have a feeling it's out of my price range. nice colors, though.
The bouquet inspiration!
Kristen of KIO Creations did this palatte for me incorporating my colors, some feathers, and just a hint of bling. What more could a girl ask for? I can't wait to see it completed!
She is seriously awesome! If it were in my budget, I'd have her do flowers and feathers everywhere. She got me much more excited about flowers than I originally was for sure!
Birds of a Feather...
Maybe it's the burlesque dancer in me, but I love ostrich feathers! Instead of flowers, the ladies will be carrying ivory feather boas.
For the men, I made feather boutonnieres. I'm going back and forth on if I really like them or not. I kind of like just the singular curled feather I'm finding, so I may re-construct these if I can.
